- Rebranding, a new website, a portal for members, photo and video production, trade shows and day-to-day marketing, supported by a fractional marketing manager.

Since 1996 the BC Blueberry Council has spoken for blueberry growers across the province, and its remit takes in research, food safety, compliance and developing markets.
The Council needed a dependable, auditable home for grower registrations, certifications and compliance paperwork. Packers could not browse for certified growers on their own, narrowing the list by region, certification or product. Blue Card rewards and event turnout were being tracked by hand, while messages between growers, packers and the Council travelled through several channels. The brand and website were overdue for a refresh as well, and the Council hoped to hand marketing and trade shows to one partner.
Farm organizations talk to two crowds at once. Growers need tools that fit a working season, stay simple on a phone and read easily in their own language. Packers and buyers want proof of who is certified before they place an order. If you farm in the Fraser Valley or sell to people who do, your website carries the same load: it has to help someone in the field and impress someone at a trade show booth.
The problem
- One trusted record was needed for grower registrations, certifications and compliance papers, with a clear audit trail
- Packers could not look up certified growers by region, certification or product
- Staff tracked event attendance and Blue Card rewards by hand
- Messages between growers, packers and Council staff were scattered over many channels
- The brand and website were due for a refresh, with one partner to handle marketing and trade shows
What we built
- A complete new brand identity for the Council
- A redesigned Council website
- Media production covering photos, video and social posts
- Planning for trade shows and a Council presence at them
- Every other marketing task run by our team
- One fractional marketing manager assigned to the Council, working alongside its staff
- A grower portal for signing up, earning Blue Card points and moving up tiers, taking training modules, storing documents in a vault that watches expiry dates, and filing production reports
- Packer portal for finding and filtering growers, messaging them directly, requesting certifications, and reporting levies with analytics
- Workshops and field days linked to Blue Card rewards, so events and points sit together
- An admin portal for approvals, notifications and audit logs
- A site that reads in 11 languages, among them Punjabi, Chinese and French
The platform today
- A single shared record that growers, packers and BCBC staff all work from
- Registrations, certifications and compliance documents that are tidier and can be audited
- A marketplace linking packers with growers, which supports the Council’s market development

Trust and tidiness, mostly. The Council needed a single, auditable place for registrations, certifications and paperwork, packers could not easily locate certified growers, and Blue Card points and event turnout were counted manually. It also needed new branding and a site refresh, with one team taking on marketing and trade shows.
We rebranded the Council, redesigned its website in 11 languages, among them Punjabi, Chinese and French, and produced photography, video and social content. We plan its trade show presence, run its marketing and provide a fractional marketing manager who works with Council staff. Behind the website sit portals for growers, packers and administrators, with Blue Card points, training modules, a document vault, levy reporting and audit logs.
The live portal reports 600+ registered growers and lists 50+ training modules. It also has 3 role-based portals, one each for growers, packers and admin. In daily use it gives growers, packers and Council staff a single shared record, tidier compliance paperwork that can be audited, and a marketplace where packers meet growers.
It might, where several groups lean on one set of records: members who report, buyers who check and staff who approve. Start by listing what your organization certifies, who reports what and who signs off, then build around that list rather than a template. Our free marketing audit is where most conversations begin.
